The state of Schleswig-Holstein has a century old function as logistics location. With more than 45,000 employees, more than 3,000 companies /institutions and a volume of nine billion Euros in the sector companies, providing services with economical focus on operations. In the economical sector, “transport and telecommunication”, Schleswig-Holstein does have a good position (source: Statistisches Amt für Hamburg und Schleswig-Holstein). The local companies cover the entire width of logistical activities and services, from pickup-transport, through logistics-IT to intermediate storage.
